Don’t forget about our sunrise shoot tomorrow. (Sunday, April 17). It’s supposed to be a great morning for a shoot.
Don’t forget your tripod and lots of warm clothes.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that the sunrise photowalk will be this Sunday, April 17 at 5:30.

> We had so much fun last week at the sunrise shoot at Cape Spear that we decided to do another one. This time we’re going to meet at Cabot Tower on Signal Hill at 5:30 (I’ll let you sleep in this week). >
> Again, you’re going to need a tripod and a lot of very warm clothes. A shutter release cable is also very handy as is a small flashlight. >
> I’ll be tweeting the whole event, you can follow me at twitter @focalplayn to keep up with the details. >
> Last week we had a fantastic breakfast at the Bagel Cafe. We can do that again if you’re interested.
Sorry for the shot notice on this. We’re having a sunrise photowalk at Cape Spear tomorrow morning. Official sunrise tomorrow is at 6:30. I’ll be there a little after 5am. Maybe we’ll stick around for breakfast after.
Going to need a tripod for this shoot, a shutter release cable would be nice and a flashlight would also be helpful before the sun comes up.

TEXTING/SMS![]()
Several of the past impromptu photowalks have started as text messages. It’s a conservation between all of the participants. Very convenient when arranging car pools. We found, the quick response time and convenience of texting made organizing the walks much easier and makes impromptu photowalks more frequent, and getting out on the walks is what its all about. Your cell phone (assuming you have one) is always close by, but not everybody has a texting plan.
Other photographic communities have chosen Facebook as a means of messaging back and forth. Not as convenient as texting because you are not always at your computer and not everybody has Facebook. I’m not really a Facebook fan and I’m not sure I want to manage three site for Focal Play’n.
The other popular option is Twitter. It’s simple like texting and instantenous is you can view them on your data phone. And that is the extent is my knowledge of Twitter.
I guess my question of the day is: how many of you are on Twitter? Do you follow people on Twitter? Should Focal Play’n get a twitter account and tweet of photowalks?
What do you think of the texting idea? Would you join the texting conservation? Send me your number and I’ll add you to the list.
Speak up and let me know what you think.
Provisional dates have been set for the next Scott Kelby Worldwide photowalk!
Based on some global feedback, the next walk has been moved to a more “temperate” season. The current walk is set for October 1-2, 2011. It’s just going to make it a little colder for the sunrise shoot. It also means that we officially have two days to complete the shoot. Not that I ever heeded that rule anyway.
You can check out the complete post from Scott himself here or from Brad on the official Worldwide photowalk site here.
I’ll keep you posted as new material is released.
